Our Mission
The mission of the Hamden Black History Committee is to preserve, educate and celebrate the rich and diverse history of Black individuals and communities. We are dedicated to highlighting the achievements, struggles, and cultural contributions that have shaped our world.
Book Awards
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we are dedicated to supporting high school seniors in their pursuit of higher education. We award deserving students who demonstrate academic commitment and a passion for learning.
Events
The Hamden Black History Committee holds events throughout the year to highlight and celebrate the many accomplishments of historical figures as well as contemporaries in our community. Events include MLK Day, Black History Month, Juneteenth and more!
